Their big (15") brothers gen-erate a commanding stick sound when closed and an excellent hard-rock "sloshed" sound when half-open. Their low-pitched chick sound reminded me of small orchestral cymbals. Not being accustomed to using such large hi-hats, I was conscious of the relatively heavy 15" top cymbal's resistance against the hi-hat stand's foot-pedal action.
