Review: This Swish is a thin cymbal that plays like a heavier one. Judging by the sound, I had originally thought this was a medium-thin. It is trashy, builds up well to a swell, and crashes well. I played strong quarter notes on this à la Simon Phillips, and the sound was massive, a real wall of sound. Again, considering its thinness, I'm very surprised at how this reacts like a much heavier cymbal.
I did try riding on this with the wooden tip of a stick, and it really didn't produce a sound that I thought could be of use for a wide range of musical settings. The stick definition was minimal, while the trashiness was more prominent.
