Stanople
Introduction: 1967
Discontinued:1973 (last listed in the '73 Ludwig catalog)
Background: Two other lines listed on the Paiste timeline as starting in the 1950s: SUPER and Stanople, they do not appear in any of Paiste's 1950s catalog material.
It is looking more and more like these lines started off sometime in the 1960s.
Speculation is that the Stanople came out in 1966 or 1967 and as we already know they were predominately sold through Ludwig in North America.
These cymbals are initially made in Germany, later in the new Swiss production facility. The stamp contains a crescent moon with a star and "STANOPLE, Made in Germany, PAISTE" or "STANOPLE, Made in Switzerland, PAISTE".
They are mainly offered in the USA, from 1967 on through the Ludwig Drum Company.
Research is pointing towards 1971 being the year that Paiste switched up the alloys on the lower lines from NS12 to B8 (most likely to go along with the release of 2002 so they could buy B8 in bulk).
Innovation:
Alloy: Nickel Silver - CuSn8 (Also known as "2002 Bronze") possibly after 1970?
