Nostalgia aside, these Traditionals flats are nicer than my old 602—certainly warmer and a little broader. Although they differed in pitch (the 18" being higher), the two models' tonal quality was identical—another example of Paiste's characteristic consistency. Their attack produces not so much "ping" as "click" and "tss"; it's all sibilance. But beneath that crisp stick sound dwells a subtle, organic tone that keeps them musical. Very nice indeed."<br>
