'''Review:''' "The 14" hi-hats have a heavy bottom and a light top. The latter results in a closed sound which we found verging on the lacklustre, lacking in cut. Likewise, the pedalled 'chick' sound is soft-tinged and relatively quiet. In fact, we had to be extra careful to set a sharp angle on the bottom cymbal in order to get enough of a pedalled clash between the two cymbals to hear anything at all. That's the price you pay for the dark sound.

Sabian's Description: <<< - >>>
Review: "The 14" Legacy hats are dry, dark, and thin-sounding, with loose, warm stick articulation. The top cymbal is fairly thin and light, while the bottom hat is a little heavier. These are not crisp-sounding hats, but keep in mind that the entire Legacy line is designed to have a warm, subtle sound. The amazing— and very positive— aspect of these hats is that they have a fat, rich “chick” when played with the hi-hat pedal. The warm tone of the hats fits perfectly with the rest of the cymbals."
