History

The Flanger Bell first appeared as part of the Sound Formula series. Upon discontinuation of that line, it was part of the of the Exotic Percussion sounds and was later integrated into the Signature line.

Description

Exotic Percussion

  • Bright, cool, full, loud. Narrow range, complex mix. Heavy, very responsive feel. Absolutely shattering, metallic, explosive attack followed by droning, full, long shimmering fade. Overall sound is characterized by strong modulating, whirling harmonics. Loud, lively, exotic cymbal with wide and definitely unusual application possibilities. Also great played with mallets.

Signature

Sound Formula

  • A small yet relatively thick cymbal, producing a shattering crash attack. It's interesting decay produces a "drone" effect as it modulates and whirls through various harmonics. (1)
