It’s no secret that I’m particularly fond of 13" snare drums; I’ve said so many times over the years in these pages. But in this case, part of my preference was due to the combination of the tonal depth and resonance of the Signature alloy, combined with the higher pitch and cutting power inherent in a drum this size. It seemed to me to be the perfect combination, resulting in a drum that sounded as sweet when played with a pair of brushes as it sounded aggressive when whacked with a drumstick.
