Review: For such a large china cymbal, I don't hear any "gong-iness" in this 22" China Low. Of course the size is good for a loud, ostentatious, exotic sound, which is perfect for wild accents when hit once, or for successive crashes, which produces a roar of epic proportions. Hitting this with the tip of the stick yields some interesting results with some trashy sounds perfect for some jazz and other situations where a different ride voice could be useful. I had been chasing this one for nearly 40 years after seeing Omar Hakim use one on Sting's debut solo album.

You will need to pick your venues for this though, as it does get loud, and quickly at that. (mine weighs in at 2245g) But if you're curious about it, you should check it out for your china needs.
