Review: The Boomer Ride has a very nice ping sound. Hitting the bow square in the middle between the bell and the edge is very pleasing, with fewer harmonics than tapping it close to the edge. The bell is 6"/15cm, and it produces a piercing tone when hit with the shank of the stick. Since all the Alpha Boomers were made with Nicko McBrain's fans in mind, I made a video comparing this to several ride models he is known to have used, which is linked above.
