Review:This ride cymbal ranks up there with my ALL TIME favorite rides ever. It is a ping monster with a killer bell. I owned two of these and kick myself daily for getting rid of both of them. Very pingy with a controllable wash. A killer bell as indicated by name, but not ear splittingly piercing. It is a very controllable ride that is great for Rock'n Roll and metal. Nicko McBrain used this ride cymbal for Brave New World/Rock in Rio and the Dance of Death Album. He ended up getting a 22" signature Bell ride made for him for the dance of death tour all the way up to todays powerslave. I now have the 2002 version of this ride and they are very similar with the addition of hammering on the bell and the underside being lathed.

Review: "Put Dimensions Power rides on steroids and you wind up with Power Bell rides. The big, deep bells on the 20" and 22" models provide even greater cutting power—not to mention a nice big target for some serious bell work. Back on the cymbal's bow, precise stick sound dominates, but a bridled roar keeps these Dimensions from sounding sterile. Though not in the review group, a 24" Dimensions Mega Power Bell Ride is also now available. Can you say "yeeow!"?"

Review: I went on a rampage buying some "bell" ride models that Nicko McBrain has been known to use. Once I acquired 4 of them, I played them in a side-by-side sort of environment to decide what I like, and what I would sell. (I did a video, linked above, of these rides so you could compare them too.)
The Dimensions 22" Power Bell Ride that he used ca. 2000-2005 has great stick definition. I get a "thick" feeling sound-wise when tapping the profile with the tip of the stick. (I don't know how else to describe it.) My favorite place to play on this was the area a little more than halfway up the bow from the edge -it gave me just the right amount of "ping" and "wash". Playing close to the edge really emanates some crazy overtones. These odd sounds would be covered up by other musicians when used in a band setting, so they're nothing to be concerned about. Also, it produces a piercing sound (but not annoyingly so) when hitting the bell with the shank of the stick.
I think the "matte" finish on the bottom of the cymbal dries out this cymbal, but only slightly so.
