Review: (NOTE: This review takes place after the entire series was re-designed in 2001)
"Unfortunately, I was not impressed with the 20" ride. I found it to have a bit of a “beginner-level” sound, not the sweet or dark K tone we’ve come to expect. And I didn’t see the “extra hammer marks” supposedly intended to give added depth of tone. In fact, the cymbal produced an annoying overtone at a bothersome frequency, after only about four bars of riding."

Review: My impression of the K. 20" Ride is that it would be perfect as an all-around, go-to ride. In my opinion the sound is about 65% "ping" and 35% wash. (Being higher in pitch than the 22" size, the wash seems louder here it does on that one.) As you can see above, the weights are varied - if you want one with more stick definition, get one of the heavier ones, and vice-versa of you want a washy one. This does crash well, and I really liked the bell sound.
I once went to a street festival where there was a small jazz quartet playing under a canopy. I don't know what that drummer was using as a ride, but in my opinion this K. would be well-suited for such a setting.
