Review: It seems that the best sounding crashes with Paiste's Colorsound coating are the heavy ones, due to how that treatment changes the sound. If the cymbal is thin and with a short to medium decay in its "natural" finish, then it gets even quicker once it has been Colorsound-ized. The Power Crash is a great sounding crash, that because it has this coating, now sounds like a slightly thinner crash. Think of it as taking a heavy crash and turning it into a medium crash, sound-wise. But, one caveat - if you're thinking of getting one of these, just know that the 20" crashes (either the "regular" Crash model, or the Power Crash) are a bit hard to come by. If you are looking for a color besides black, then those colors are even more difficult to procure.
