Review: To my ears, I think the Colorsound coating really doesn't work for such a small and thin cymbal. This seems really muted, and with a super quick decay. I did a side by side video (linked above) comparing it to a Formula 602 Modern Essentials 10" Splash, and you can really hear what I'm talking about. Prior to buying this, I had wondered why this model wasn't available in the 8" size in the series - it would simply not be big enough to produce much sound at all with the color coating. This seems more of an "effects" cymbal versus a traditional splash sound. I'm not trying to say that you won't like it, but definitely check out the sound file above beforehand. I had also wondered why I couldn't find one video or soundfile online, aside from the ones on Paiste's site, 6 years(!) after the series introduction. Now I think I know why.
