Review: "The “Fizzle” in the name here denotes a fuzzy chick sound, claimed by Paiste to emulate heavily gated, sampled hi-hat sounds. I thought that the cymbals were a little too soft in alive situation. But when I listened back to a mini-disc recording I made of all the test cymbals, the Fizzle hats did, indeed, deliver the mandated “clipped” sounds, with enough body to pass for old Turkish cymbals. The chick was minimal but audible. These hats were at their best when played semi-open (just“kissing”). In that configuration they delivered loads of sustain without overshadowing any electronic accompaniment."
