Review: The Signature Reflector Dark Crisp hats possess all of the fundamental qualities found within the regular lathed finish variety but with some subtle differences. The Reflector finish makes these already famously crispy hats even crispier, adding just a touch of glassy crunch and tighter focus. The sonic timbre is somewhat lower which makes them feel a bit darker but this is accompanied by an increase in high frequency overtones which makes them feel brighter at the same time. That’s Swiss bronze magic! The closed sound is clearer and more direct. The open sound is a bit dirtier and drier but also glassier and more cutting thanks to the slight high frequency bump from the finish. The chick is a little warmer and more compact. Feel is virtually identical. Keep a broom and dustpan handy because these hats are so crispy you’ll have to sweep up the crumbs when you’re done playing! Weights are 870g top and 1467g bottom. This pair was made in 2004.
