A Zildjian 14" New Beat Hi-Hat Versus Sabian AA 14" Regular Hats
Sabian's Description: <<< - >>>
Review: "These are tight, bright hi-hats of medium to medium-heavy weight, with a fast, clean response. These cymbals can be used for controlled applications where a crisp stick sound is required."
Review written by Chip Stern (Modern Drummer, June 1984, pg. 72)
Review: Just like Zildjian's New Beat hi-hats, Sabian's Regular Hats are great for a multitude of musical genres - big band, jazz, pop, rock - you name it, these hats will cover it. (They're heavier than the name suggests.) They respond to stick work quickly, are precise, have a pleasing pitch with a solid "punch", and respond well using the foot pedal too. Seriously, if you need a set of hats to anchor your setup, give these a try.
