Review: What can I say. Its a sound edge. If you like loud, cutting powerful hi hats and have to have sound edge, get the Rude's! These are very loud, cutting, crisp, clear, and plenty of "chick" will work well with most styles of music. Great set of hi hats, I have played and owned every SE Paiste has currently and most old styles from 2002, Signature, 2000 Sound Reflections, 3000, and I believe 404's and will say these are ranked with the best of them. However, I do wish the top was heavier than medium.

Review: Yeah, I have the 14" Rude SE's, and at first I was kinda unsure about them, but I love them now. They are not as heavy as one might think. I like them a lot, and they are not nearly as heavy as the crashes, not even close.

Review: I now have the 14" SE Rudes as well, and fully agree - they are heavy in strength and power - but have a very light feel to them - which is a very refreshing change for hi-hats as I'm used to 15" Sig Powers - the heaviest available - so its been great to have a lighter feel. They are truly amazing hi-hats though, I love 'em! The first few hits I was a bit unsure (bought from memory of my testing last year) but after a few more dabbles, I remembered why I loved them! I use my Rude Sound Edge hi-hats for near everything, they are really versatile at heart. The punk band I play with at the minute - I doubt I could find better hi-hats for it!
