Introduction: Summer NAMM 1989
Discontinued: 1994 (Available as special order only after this.)
Background: DeJohnette worked with Nort Hargrove and and Dan Barker at Sabian for 2 or 3 years to create cymbals that were dark and dry, and unlike anything that was currently being offered by any manufacturer. DeJohnette wanted not just one cymbal, but a whole series - Hi-Hat, Crashes, Rides, and a China.
